How do I calculate a discount?

How do I work out the sale price of an item?
Subtract the discount from the original price. For a 20% discount on a $100 item you save $20, so the sale price is $80. This calculator does both figures for you the moment you enter the numbers.
How do I calculate percent off in my head?
Find 10% by moving the decimal one place left, then scale it. For 30% off $50, 10% is $5, so 30% is $15 saved and $35 to pay. Use the calculator to confirm the exact amount.
