The available voices come from your browser and operating system, so the list varies by device. Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS each ship different voices and languages; installing more system voices adds them to the menu.
Can I download the spoken audio as a file?
No. The Web Speech API plays audio live through your speakers and does not produce a downloadable file. For a saved audio file you would need a dedicated TTS export tool; this tool is for listening in the browser.
Is my text private?
Yes. Speech synthesis runs locally in your browser, so your text is not uploaded to any server. It is safe for private notes, drafts, and documents.
