Image Watermark
Add text watermarks to images. Free, no signup, no upload.
How It Works
Select an image, enter your watermark text, and adjust size, opacity, and position. The preview updates as you change settings. Download the watermarked image when ready. No file is ever uploaded to a server.
Why Add a Watermark?
Watermarks protect your images from unauthorized use, establish brand identity, and indicate ownership. A semi-transparent text overlay is the most common approach — visible enough to deter theft but subtle enough to not ruin the image.
Watermark Controls
| Setting | Range | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Font size | 12–200 px | 48 px |
| Opacity | 5%–100% | 30% |
| Position | Center, or any corner | Center |
| Output format | PNG | PNG |
Tips for a Good Watermark
Keep opacity low (around 20–40%) so the mark deters copying without hiding the photo. A centered watermark is hardest to crop out, while a corner placement is less intrusive for portfolios. Larger images can carry a larger font size while staying balanced, and short text — your name, handle, or a copyright symbol with the year — reads more clearly than a long line.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I add a watermark to an image?
Select an image, type your watermark text, then adjust the font size, opacity, and position. The preview updates live as you change settings. Click Download to save the watermarked image as a PNG file.
Can I control the size, opacity, and position?
Yes. Font size ranges from 12 to 200 pixels, opacity from 5% to 100%, and you can place the text in the center or in any of the four corners. The watermark is drawn in white with a subtle dark outline so it stays readable on both light and dark images.
What file format is the download?
The watermarked image is saved as a PNG file, named after your original file with a -watermarked suffix. PNG keeps the full quality of the drawing regardless of the format you uploaded.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The image is drawn onto a canvas entirely in your browser and never leaves your device. Nothing is uploaded, so it works offline once the page has loaded and your photos stay private.
Can I add an image or logo watermark?
This tool adds text watermarks only, which is the most common way to label a photo with your name, brand, or a copyright notice. You can type any text, including symbols, and style it with the size and opacity controls.
