Image Cropper

Drag to select a crop area. Free, no signup, no upload.

How It Works

Select an image, then click and drag on it to draw a crop area. Click Crop Selection to extract that region. Download the cropped result. No file is ever uploaded to a server.

Why Crop Images?

Cropping removes unwanted parts of an image, helping you focus on the subject, straighten a composition, remove borders, or prepare images for profile pictures, thumbnails, and social media posts. The selection here is free-form — drag out any rectangle you like — and the live pixel readout lets you match a target size by eye as you drag.

Common Crop Sizes

Watch the pixel readout while you drag to get close to a size you need. These are widely used dimensions:

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I crop an image online?

Select an image, then click and drag across it to draw a rectangular selection. Click Crop Selection to cut out that region, then use Download to save it. The live readout shows the selection size in pixels as you drag.

Can I crop images on my phone?

Yes. The cropper supports touch, so you can drag out a selection with your finger on a phone or tablet just as you would with a mouse on a desktop.

What format is the cropped image saved in?

The cropped result is always saved as a PNG, named your-file-cropped.png. PNG is lossless, so the cut-out keeps the same quality as the original pixels.

Does cropping reduce the image quality or resolution?

No. The selection is mapped back to the full-resolution image, so the crop keeps the original pixel density. The file only contains the region you selected, at its native resolution.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Cropping runs entirely in your browser on an HTML canvas, so your images never leave your device and nothing is uploaded, stored, or sent anywhere.
