How It Works
Select an audio file and adjust the speed slider. Click Change Speed and the audio is re-sampled at the new rate. Speeds below 1x slow it down, above 1x speed it up. Download the result as WAV. No file is ever uploaded to a server.
Why Change Audio Speed?
Slowing down audio is useful for transcription, music practice, and language learning. Speeding up is great for listening to podcasts and lectures faster. Note that changing speed also changes pitch proportionally.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I change the speed of an audio file?
Select an MP3 or WAV file, drag the speed slider to the rate you want, then click Change Speed. The tool re-samples the audio at the new rate and gives you a preview player and a WAV download.
How much can I speed up or slow down the audio?
The slider ranges from 0.5x to 3x in steps of 0.1. A value of 0.5x plays the audio at half speed, 1.0x is the original, and 3x plays it three times as fast.
Does changing the speed also change the pitch?
Yes. This tool changes speed by re-sampling, so the pitch shifts with it: slowing audio down lowers the pitch and speeding it up raises it, similar to changing the speed of a record. It does not preserve the original pitch.
What format is the output file?
The processed audio is always exported as a WAV file. The download is named after your original file with the speed appended, for example song-1.5x.wav.
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is decoded and processed entirely in your browser using the Web Audio API. Nothing is uploaded, so your audio stays on your device.
