Audio Volume Booster

Boost or reduce audio volume. Free, no signup, no upload.

How It Works

Select an audio file and set the volume slider. Values above 100% boost the volume, below 100% reduce it. Click Adjust Volume and download the result as a WAV — no file is ever uploaded to a server.

Why Boost Audio Volume?

Recordings are sometimes too quiet due to microphone distance, low gain settings, or a quiet source. Boosting the volume makes them audible without re-recording — useful for voice memos, interviews, lectures, and podcasts. Be careful with extreme boosts: pushing the level too high introduces clipping and distortion.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I increase the volume of an audio file?

Select an MP3 or WAV file, drag the slider above 100% to boost the volume, then click Adjust Volume and download the louder file as a WAV. Values below 100% make the audio quieter.

Is my audio uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is processed entirely in your browser with the Web Audio API, so it never leaves your device. That keeps private recordings and voice memos confidential.

How much can I boost the volume?

Up to 500% (5x the original level). Large boosts help very quiet recordings, but going too high can push the audio past its maximum and cause clipping.

Will boosting the volume cause distortion?

It can. When the boosted signal exceeds the maximum level it clips, which sounds like harsh distortion. Increase the volume just until the audio is comfortably loud, and back off if it sounds crunchy.

What formats does it accept?

You can load MP3 or WAV files. The adjusted result downloads as a WAV, which is uncompressed and plays in any editor or media player.
